If the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is installed and the Java Plugin is enabled in your web browser, you should see a purple box below containing a message stating the "Java Vendor" and "Java Version". If it does not appear, the JRE is not installed, or Java is disabled in your web browser preferences.
